Default HELP! IAC issues

I popped a p0505 code the other night giving me a IAC malfunction and after reading the other posts you guys said try cleaning the IAC b4 replacing. I just got upset taking the stupid thing off, so i went out and bought a new one. Now my truck wont idle at all. I can get it to run just by holding the throttle, but if i let go or pop it in gear, she stalls. I have no clue as to what to do. I took off my TBS because there seems to be a concensus that they are junk and noticed i have a bad fit on my CAI. i have a slight gap on the back side but i dont think that would throw a code. does anybody have any suggestions?

i always come along and disagree with squirrel on the IAC adjustment/calibration thing. according to everything i read, no calibration is necessary, although it is a good idea to reset the pcm when installing a new one.

try resetting pcm. if that doesn't work, and you new iac is plugged in properly, then you probably got a bad one. its very common, especially with the crappy ones from autozone and advance. take it back and tell em its no good and swap it for another. i once went through 4 or 5 to get one that worked right.

edit - i think its a waste of time to clean the stupid thing.
