Cool Few Questions

I'm going to be dropping the tank on my truck to fix the gas gauge. How hard is it to get the fuel sending unit out of one of these truck looks easy. Also what should i use to clean the sulfur off of the little piece it goes up and down on? and how can i prevent it from happening again?

My truck for now is sitting and after a while when it has not been started it makes a ticking noise for like 3 seconds and goes away but if i start it up again it wont do it unless it sits for a while? Im not really worrying about it but just would like to know

Thanks!

Sorry, can't be much help to you as I had mine done in my old Dakota by a mechanic.

If it becomes to much for you, a reputable mechanic can do it for about $250, which includes the cost of the sending unit and labor.

Its either the standard 117 amps or the HD 136amps. if it isn't noted on the engine bay by the radiator, the drivers door frame, or in the glovebox, then you'll need to get a build sheet.
