Default burning oil

i have a 94 dodge ram with the 5.2 v8. i purchased it about 6 months ago for only $1000. the truck itself now has about 169000 miles on becuase i do a lot of driving. i just recently noticed that when i start the truck a big puff of smoke comes out. i took this as it was burning oil. i have seen many different types of stuff in stores that say they will stop the smoke and stop the leak and the only one that seems like it might work is called Bardahl no-smoke plus stop leak. i need to know if this stuff actually works or if i put it in will it just ruin my engine?

It would really depend on how worn the internal parts are,i.e.seals,rings,etc.

Most likely,it will not work.Once you see this smoke there's nothing really you can do except fix the faulty part.

Hurt your engine,no,so its worth a shot anyway.
