My Homeade Bumper
It looks good. Just one thing I've noticed on mine though. If you wheel it, the frame flexes and the bumper will rub the bottom of the turn signals and front part of the fender. You're a ways into the build but, if I were to build one myself, I'd leave a larger gap between the bumper and the bottom of the lights, fender and grill.
it might be possible to build
an aftermarket front bumper for a 2nd Gen Ram
that would actually improve
highway MPG
by making the nose of the truck more aerodynamic
The blunt grille could have a guard screen section of the bumper in front of it
that would cut through the wind with less drag

I like it looking from the front, but the angled view, I dunno. I think it would be SWEET with a nice bull bar on the front of it, or even when you get your winch mounted.
Great job on the fab.

Looks good... Just out of curiousity, what thickness did you use? I will likely be building a bumper in the near future... and I'm trying to decide between 1/4 and 3/8". I'll likely build the "skin" parts out of 3/8 and reinforce with 1/4.
You wouldn't happen to have any sketches of bumper with dimensions would you?

The bumper is made out of 3/16" welded inside and out, I think 1/4 would be way overkill. I will have to take pictures of the inside, I reinforced it with 3" C-channel, and used the 3" to mount it to the truck and for the winch mount. My guess is that it weights somewhere around 180-200lb. Thanks for all the complements.
