Nothing should cost as much as it does.

Thumbs up Hey just thought I'd chime in....thanks David

Hello All:

I just discovered your nice review of our 'Rock Solid Ram Truck Steering' upgrade kit, and wanted to say 'thanks'.

Glad to hear it worked as we intended to help you tighten up the operation of your Ram truck column, and eliminating steering play & column originated rattling noises.

I thought I'd point out that we loaded a YouTube video on our website, which provides an overview of the upgrade process, showing the lower column OEM bearing & tension spring & how they get loose & lose precision, how that makes the steering play increase, and usually results in rattling or clunking noises once the OEM bearing gets badly worn.

By the way, we've been offering this upgrade kit since June 2006 and have a few thousand trucks that have been fixed with it.

As for the cost, I've had many dozens of our fellow Ram truck owners tell me, once they did the upgrade, that it made a $$ thousand dollars worth of improvement - for just $ 60.

In fact, most of our satisfied customers call it the single largest increase in steering performance, for around the price of an hour of labor at the average shop - making it the least expensive part in the entire Ram Truck steering system.

But take a look for yourself - the video is posted on our page:
www.RockSolidRamTruckSteering.com

Any questions, post them here or there on the video itself....I'll address them asap.

Regards, David Alan / RamSteeringFix Guy

I am going to be ordering one of these next week. I have steering play and a clunking when I go over bumps. Getting under the hood tomorrow to check the spring to see how loose it is. My 01 has 194k on it.

Our '97 Ram 4x4 steers better than new, with no 'sawing' on the steering wheel to keep it straight. Road feel is dramatically improved. My hands are still going down the highway !"
The "sawing" was always my biggest complaint about my trucks handling.
I changed out ever bushing, suspension component, pittman arm, idler arm, everything I could change and the steering still feels like mush. If this $60 part is the fix, then I'll be kinda upset I did all that other work...

ZMAN, what were some of your symptoms before you replaced the bushing?

I am running Mickey Thompson 285's and having the "see-saw" effect but nothing else, no knocking or rattle in the steering. The front end is fairly new so I am wondering if this is my problem?

Awesome. Make sure you have a dremel with a cutting blade or some good pliers to break the old retainer off
