Default 8 lugs for 1998 1500?

I have a 1998 1500 Ram that I just bought Which of course has 5 lug and I also have a nice set of rims and tires of my 2500 Ram that are 8 lug. I would like to use the 8 lug tires on the 1500 ram. are there conversions that any of you would know about? Either lug conversions or changing the rotors.

the easiest thing would be to get new wheels. Not saying it can't be done. some of the dodge 2500 vans, have 1/2 ton running gear, with 8 lugs. You could order parts for that. But it would be cheaper to buy new wheels, and then sell your other ones

It may not be cheaper, 20" wheels and tires are quite expensive. The van idea sounds interesting, I was wondering if axles of another vehicle might fit? or if 2500 front and rear ends would bolt up.

I wouldn't bother. Changing the rotors/bearings on a 2500 is a royal PITA. I wouldn't wish that job on anyone just to fit a set of used wheels. Sell the wheels and get some that fit--you'll save yourself some headaches come maintenance time. Finding some equally nice 5-lug wheels should be easy.

unfortunately, I've only seen 5 to 6 lug conversions and 6 to 8's and no way I'd run two conversions on there...
