Not to thread jack, but im still up in the air for which direction im going. I am dead set on 33's so thats not changing (255/85/16) on stock steel rims. However I have posted links on this site before to a guy on youtube who runs the Detroit Truetrac with 5" lift w/ 35's with one in the front and rear. If his can hold up, why wouldn't 33's hold up? I still think a locker is too much for me on the street, and... i'd love that ox but I don't want to wait. An auburn would get the job done, but after looking on the internet I can't say im real impressed with them either. It looks nice but there are plenty of people saying they put the word "burn" in "auburn" for a reason. if it's 32's max because of the weight, im going a narrow profile 33 so the weight can't be an issue. And for only .5" bigger vertically, I can't see where it makes a huge difference. My guess is it would run fine for my app. When the time comes, then ill worry about it I guess

 

When I first saw the Truetrac, I thought it would be the best way to go since it uses gears instead of clutches or cones. But I shyed away from it based on the tire size thing. I still think it is the best design though (other then a e-locker maybe). I bet it would be ok with 33" tires.

 

yea i have been doing the research here and there because now that i have been looking on this thread i have been wanting to upgrade my axles, i am pretty well set on the elocker becasue it runs as an open carrier when not engaged( good for road) and then once engaged, full locker, it will eb good, but along with that i want to get a set of 33" superswampers, that shoudl be fine right? sorry to thread jack as well. didnt realize i just did until i re read it.

 

If anyone wants one, I found the Auburn for the Chrysler 9.25 for cheaper than Randy's Ring and Pinion. Not sure about local markets, but this is the cheapest I've found it for so far.

I think that was around what I paid from a shop that I found on Auburns site listed as a dealer. It was a few hours away and great to work with.

 

This is my experience with the No-Slip thus far;
Since I've had the No-Slip I've stepped up my game offroad a little. I'm getting into places in two wheel drive that used to need four wheel drive. Also admittedly I'm not easy on my truck even on the street. All I get is loads of traction! :-D

 

WOO HOO! I finally made up my mind. I can finally rest an little easier now. I figured I'd shoot eaton an email to see where the shortfall of the truetrac really was (since it was suggested for no bigger than 32" tires. Read the email yourself
