2001 Dodge ram transmission issues
This weekend my transmission sort of went out. all forward gears work. reverse somewhat works. shift into reverse and it will drift backwards, but push the gas and nothing happens. almost as if the engine is disconnected from the transmission or something.
I'm by far not a transmission guy so i don't have a clue. is there a clutch pack or something that i might be slipping or filter clogged or something along those lines? just had a new gov solenoid put in about 10 k ago (71k on the truck) and service done at the same time.
any ideas?

I hardly think he needs a complete new transmission.

1. check fluid level (running in N hot)
2. your check valve mite be clogged ( CLEAN IT !! ) push air thru it . take it off 1st (Be the line going into the buttom of the rad hose will say PRESSURE line )
im surprized your not having any other issues , when i put my OD unit back on , i had it sliping in Reverse end up buring up the OD unit and ended up with a New OD unit..
