Default overdrive/cuise control

ok, i have a 98 1500 sport 4x4 auto with a 6" lift and 315/75/R16 tires.
i have had the speedo recalibrated and i do not have gears yet.
driving around town is fine except it will not go full into o/d until i go 45.
on the highway i can go 50-55 just fine in o/d but when i hit the slightest bump it pops out of overdrive for a second. (kinda irritating when theres a lot of bumps). goin 60-65 this is where the overdrive has troubles engaging. if i try to set the cruise any higher than this it will just slow down until it reaches 60-65.
basically it seems cruise does not want to work above 65
and i dont have enough power to keep it in o/d
can all of these problems be solved by gears? what size would you recomemd?

sorry for the book

a bad TPS can make it jump out OD or cause the converter to unlock for a second.
As for the not holding speed above 65 it could be a bad cruise servo or vacuum leak to the servo.
Do your air vents switch to defrost when accelerating hard?

Check your cruise control vaccum servo as well as all the vacuum lines. Especially the lines on the passenger side of the throttle body where several lines come together near the firewall. There is a plastic tee as well as a couple of inline valves that crack and leak vacumm. Also any vacuum lines near the battery tray. Batteries leak some electrolite and sometimes it lands on the plastic vacuum line going to the servo. Replace it with a section of rubber vacuum line if this is the case.
