Headlight Bulb Choice
Well, I've got pretty much everything for my truck to be finished. I am, however, interested in some new bulbs for the headlights before I reinstall the headlights.
Without converting to HIDs, what do you guys think are the best bulb for your money? I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a pair of bulbs, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to stick with stock.

What are you looking for? Vision, look, color? If you want vision most blue bulbs are worse than stock however they usually look better. Another thing to keep in mind is if you go with a high wattage bulb you need to upgrade the headlight harness plugs to keep them from melting.
I right now run Cuzo bulbs in my truck with Nokya pnp headlight harnesses. I like them a lot. They are a whiteish blue. I'm not sure if they are as bright as stock or not. Been a while since I've had stock but I can see pretty well with them and really like them. They also look good.
I also ran Farenheit bulbs previous. I now have them in the Chevy and have a set in the high beams of one of the Honda's also. I really like these also. Well, the high wattage ones. They are white with a slight hint of blue. Not quite as much as the Cuzo's but not a ton of difference. I really like these and recommend them. They didn't seem any worse than stock brightness wise and the color seem to just look much better lighting up the road so I liked them more.
I also used the low wattage ones and they seemed slightly brighter than stock when comparing side by side but otherwise you wouldn't have been able to tell. Maybe a tad whiter but still had a tiny bit of yellow to them. I liked these but there wasn't a huge difference in color or brightness just as light difference.
I used Eurolite Fusions for a while and I liked them too. They were white with a slight hint of blue too. Not a lot of blue to them though. These were fairly bright but I did the 9005 conversion on the Honda with these where the high beam bulbs go in the low beam socket. These seem to be harder to find now but they are stock wattage. I liked these also.
I also have tried Eurolite Crystal's that come in low or high wattage. I tried the stock wattage ones. These seemed exactly like the Fusions. I couldn't tell a difference. I liked these both better than stock. Not sure if as much as the Cuzo's and Farenheits or not.
I've also tried the Eurolite Super Plasma's. I thought these were great at first. A nice white. No color really and lit up the road really well. I was really happy with them for about 2 months when one burnt out. I got them replaced under warranty. Well replaced one and the other died not long after so replaced that too. Thinking maybe I got a bad set I put the 2nd set in and sure enough about 2 months later the 2nd set burnt out too. I liked these but wouldn't recommend them at all due to they just don't seem to last.
The high beams however lasted me over 2 years and I liked them. I replaced them when one finally burnt out and the new set had some yellow to them wasn't as white and didn't seem as bright. The bulb looking at it looked different with the coating also. Not sure if I got a bad set or they changed them. I keep those as spares now.
The next set I've used is Nokya Artic Purple I really liked these when I put them in. A really pinkish purple look when looking at the headlight. Looked more like a pink or really light purple but I really liked them at first. They lit up the road and everything around purple. They were not as bright as the Fusions I took out. Atleast I didn't think so. Anyway after a week or so the coating started burning off. Now they are just white. They don't really look purple or pink and don't like up the road that color either. I still have these in the 96 Accord but am not too happy with them due to the color not lasting.
The next set is Nokya Arctic white. I didn't like these at all. These probably had the most color of what I have tried well most blue color. The Cuzo's might be close not sure as they both have some white to them too not just pure blue. I ran these for a couple of days then took them back. I didn't like them because I couldn't hardly see the road. They lit the road up the same color as the road so I didn't like them at all. I've heard some people say they like them and some hate them. I didn't like them at all so I took them back. I'm also afraid they would have lost their color after seeing the artic purples but I didn't have the long enough to find out.
Overall I think the main bulbs I'd consider are the Farenheits(these would be my #1 choice probably unless you want a lot of color), Cuzo's if you want just a tad more blue, or Eurolite Farenheits.
Those are out of what I've tried.
The Silverstars are supposed to be good too. They however are expensive and not supposed to have much color to them.
I know jason.w also likes the Eurodesignz or however they spell it. I had a buddy that used to run the yellow ones and loved them too so maybe check them out.

Wow lots of info. Thanks a lot for the post. I'm tryin to go for a whiter bulb, since I'm pretty sure the blue ones are illegal, even though I see them a lot. I mainly want something a bit brighter than stock but not high wattage or ones that'll blind and **** everyone else off.
I looked up some prices right quick and the Cuzos seem to be the same price as the Silverstars, so I think its goin to be coming down to who has them in stock locally. I couldn't find anything on the fahrenheit or eurodesignz bulbs, but if I don't get the bulbs within the next few days, I'll take a look. Thanks a lot for the advice.

I got the Cuzo's on eBay for pretty cheap. Like $20. I think they have the best prices for eurodesignz too. The Farenheits you can get from Millionbuy.com. If you want a white bulb I'd recommend the Farenheits. The ones that are white are high wattage though. Well worth the week or so wait for them imo. You could probably buy those and the Nokya headlight harnesses for about the price of the silverstars. I don't think they blind people and they look really white with a slight hint of blue but mostly just white.
I'm running the silverstars in mine. It did improve the brightness of the headlights and made them whiter, definitely not a blue tint though if that's what you're looking for. They are a little pricey, but easily found at auto parts stores.
I have not tried the same bulbs as HTM, but I have tried the SilverStars, the SilverStar Ultras, and GE Nighthawks. Of the stock yellow-ish colored bulbs, the Nighthawks were the best. I was very unimpressed with the Sylvania products, which didn't really come as a surprise. I prefer GE for most exterior bulbs.
Like HTM said, I like the EuroDezigns bulbs. Once in a great while you will get a faulty one, but they do honor their warranty. In the three vehicles I have installed them in, I've had to use their lifetime warranty four times in four years. Two of those times were within the past month or two, but thats my fault. I was rewiring my headlamps (using relays) and evidently handled the bulbs improperly. When I pulled them out, you could see the shape of a thumb print or finger print on one side, turned black from where the skin oils damaged the bulb. Surprisingly, they still honored the warranty on the bulbs and sent me a brand new set.
Their standard 8500k bulbs that I use are blue coated, shine pure white (no hint of blue at all at night), and outshined all the Sylvania bulbs, the GEs, and the stock. They now have some EuroDezigns Ultras I haven't tried yet, supposed to be even better.
