Default Just getting started

I recently traded in my Ford F-150 for a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4X4. I was a huge Ford guy until recently. This is my first Dodge, and I was wondering what type of easy and relatively inexpensive mods I should start with and why. I was thinking Cold Air Intake and a chip mod. I want to improve both fuel economy and power. The engine is a 5.2 liter V8.

Intake-wise, go with a Volant or a Mopar round air cleaner. I'm not sure about chips. The Fastman throttle bodies are pretty popular around here and go good with an intake upgrade. Other than that, you can always upgrade the exhaust which can't hurt.

I would go with a new intake and free flow exhaust first. You will notice huge differences with these two. Then go with a tuner. I suggest a superchips tuner. I have one and its great. After all that go with the 52mm fastman tb. Thats where I'm headed to next. Once you start upgrading you dont stop lol.

Exhaust, intake, TB, tuner. Superchips Flashpaq is supposed to be good, but nothing beats a custom made tune just for your truck and your upgrades like the SCT.

Once your ready to add a chips tune, go with the SCT its a little more expensive, 600, but its sure fire bang for your buck. Plus free tunes for anyother upgrade you do, unless you add something like a blower or new cam, then tunes are 50. But they are complete and custom for your truck.
