does anyone know which is louder the Cherry Bomb Extreme or the Cherry bomb Glasspacks?

 

Well the glasspack may be louder but thats only because it's basically a straight thru.The Extreme is a WAY better muffler.Much better construction and MUCH better sound in my experience.

Glasspack was really the first performance muffler's but they(Cherry Bomb)have since made more improved muffler's with a much more aggressive rumble as apposed to the loud WAHHHHHHHH of the glasspack.

 

The CBExtreme may sound louder at idle, but not as much as the glasspack at WOT. I have one on mine but I had to also install a 24" glasspack in front of it to get rid of the raspy cackle the CBE was producing under heavy throttle. Now it sounds awesome from idle to WOT!

 

I had Cherry Bomb glass packs 25 years ago in my 1st car, a '73 Nova SS. I can't imagine any muffler being louder! But the demo's of the Extreme that I've heard are awfully impressive too...

 

i have the extreme on dow si/do. its loud at wot, its a single chamber muffler. sounds good, my buddy has a glasspack on his 98 318 and it def isnt louder than mine , if you ask me i dont like how glasspacks sound, go with the muffler you will love it.

you would think the glasspack would be loud having stright threw , but it isnt ,and he had it bolted on not welded, and we went 4 wheeling and it fell off, and then his truck was really loud. louder than mine , it was funny and i loved it ...

 

The glasspack will be louder and have that cracking sound at WOT without a cat converter. Made a set of true duals for a guy with a 97 5.2 that had no cats and dual cherry bomb glasspacks with 4 inch diameter tips. Definately disturbed the peace. Loud as hell.
