Question Driving Impressions: 33s vs 35s?

All other things equal, what will the driving impressions be of either of these two tire sizes? I want to know if anyone has had both sizes on their truck, perhaps due to an upgrade period, and knows how they both feel. How does the extra 2" affect on-road acceleration, braking, gas mileage, and as far as cornering/handling is concerned, given the same brand tire, will the sidewall naturally flex more or will the additional sidewall reinforcements from the larger size negate that?

I ask because later this year or the beginning of next year I will re-purchase 33s or upgrade to 35s but I do not plan to alter the final drive ratio. Thank you.

I have had both. At the time, I had 4.10 gears. When I went to 35's, I was hating life. Truck would barely stay in OD. The slightest hill or even a strong headwind would immediatly pop me out of overdrive. Once I switched gears to 4.56 though, that all went away and they ride great. Gas mileage dropped when I went to 35's, but went back up when I went to 4.56's. It seriously is all about gears when you get into tires over 33".

I think the 33's are a little more maneuverable. They cornered better. But what do you expect out of a 35" tire.

35's make a big difference in performance over 33's. I have a set of both sizes in my garage. I like the 35's for the look and stance, but my 33's drive much better (granted they are BFG ATs vs my 35" BFG MTs). The truck accelerates and pulls much stronger with the 33's and my MPG is 12.5ish in town with 33's and around 11 with the 35's running the same roads.

That said, my truck doesn't have any problem running interstate speeds with either set. The v8 is more than enough for them, but gears do make a big difference (past vehicle experience). A set of 4.88s are in my future eventually.

Well, I'm pretty sure I'll keep to 33s then. This truck is so different than my previous sport car (duh). Quick add-on question, do all Rams roll backwards significantly on hills? Again, my last car which (around 3500lbs and 368rwtq) was confidence-inspiring waiting on a hill and even creeping up and stopping again. Later, when this behemoth rolled backwards the first time I almost peed! I even went searching for some beefier, lower stall torque converters.

Yeah, its normal. I wish my stall was a little lower also sometimes (stock converter now), some of the newer Dodges I've driven feel much better in that department. But yes, thats normal, at least mine does.
