Truck shaking.

Default Truck shaking.

Would anyone by any chance know what is wrong with my 2001 dodge ram? Any speed over 50 if i hit my brakes my whole shakes. My steering wheel goes crazy and u feel it really bad shaking. Any advice could help thanks.

Is it 2 or 4 wheel drive? Check all the suspension parts, ball joints, trac bar, tie rods and also hub bearings. If that all seems tight, one or both of your calipers have probably seized on the slides(or piston(s) seized) and heated up the rotors and they have heat checks or are warped.

Thanks man i appreicate that. I checked my rotors today those are good. So it has to be some suspension part.

If the rotors are warped that will be hard to see.

BTW, you should adjust the rear shoes also.

The feeling of warped rotors is a metered shaking that makes you feel like the truck isn't going to stop in time.

The "death wobble" on the other hand is an "Oh ****, I'm about to be sitting in the pavement because my truck is going to fly apart" feeling.

True, but I think it's a brake issue since he says it does it when trying to slow down above 50 mph, like getting off the highway I assume. Of course I'd still like to know if it's 2 or 4 WD!
