I need help, Im pretty new at this. My rear differential is leaking from where the drive shaft goes into it. I want to check the level of the oil in it. I checked on top of the axle for a fill plug but could feel any. But the rubber plug on the back of it, is that the fill plug? here is a pic and I plulled the plug so that is y oil was in the pic o yea can I still drive it if it is a slow leak and has enough oil in it?

yes, that rubber plug is where you add oil to the diff.
clean the area around the plug to avoid getting dirt inside.
with truck sitting level, simply fill it up to where it runs out.
you'll need a new yoke/pinion seal. but it doesn't look too bad yet.
as long as you keep it full, you can continue to drive it.
use 75w90 or 80w90 or 85w90 or 90w. its all rated GL5 and it doesn't really matter which one you use.
