Brake Controller/Trailer Wiring Question
I have a 1996 1500 Laramie SLT Sport 4x4, 390, 4 speed auto. It did not come from the factory with a tow kit, but it looks like a light duty kit was added at the dealer. It has an aftermarket tranny cooler mounted very well with brackets, a Draw Tite receiver hitch, and a Draw Tire flat four trailer plug.
My question is this, I know that the truck is pre-wired for the brake controller with the plug under the dash, found it. I am wondering, where does the blue brake wire terminate? The wire comes from the plug and runs into a whole mess of other wires that go to the firewall. I'd like to find the end of it and splice in to run my brake wire back to the the tail.
TIA for any help.

Thank you, but there isn't much 2nd gen Dodge info there.
This is the best info I've found, came on it last night.

Also this is a good place for parts for a plug in harness for a 4 way. http://www.trailerwiring.com/ Hoppy wiring harnesses if you ever see that name some place. If you want a 6 or 7 way plug, you can get those there too. You'll just have to refer to the first link to find out how/where to run the extra wires.
My truck already has a similar harness in place, I just needed the additional info on how to splice into the factory harness for the line from the brake controller. The answer to that question is to the connectors behind the drivers wheel. The wire from the factory supplied plug for the controller comes to that point. If you did not have a factory installed tow package, the wire comes into one of those connectors, but does not come out (plus one other wire for the running lights). The way to do a nice connection is to run the wire to that point, get the correct spade connectors and put them in the plug where they were missing. Not too hard and it will be a very nice job.
