Default Auto Transmission Shifting Problem

i have a 2000 ram. auto trans. 3.9L engine. it sat unused for about 2-1/2 years until last december. it ran great until about 2 months ago when it started having problems shifting when accelerating fast or when going up hills. it has a slow leak of trans. fluid (probably a gasket in the pan) but for now the fluid level is fine. i don't know where to start.

any advice is appreciated.

After 2 and a half years I'd say the best place to start is to change the fluid and filter ASAP...

change the fluid with atf +4 only. some add lucas trans stablizer (i do) and it helps my shifts. Change the filter, its 3 screws. Also if you dare, adjust the bands while the pan is off. That should help. If not, a rebuild is in your future...

Have you ever torn down a transmission after someone has used lucas trans additive before? UGH! Its NASTY! Do you know how it works?

After changing the trans fluid and filter, if it still does it then i would suspect the gov. pressure sensor and solenoid.
