Also have some backspacing questions if new rims are needed.

My attorney says I must answer "NO!

Really, it may not be safe under certain conditions. They probably just won't wear and handle as well as they should on the right wheels. They may "bow out" in the center, and wear the center of the tire faster. That also means poorer contact with the road, so... poorer braking, handling, etc. They MAY be fine. I'm not going to say go ahead and use them. They recommend that wheel size for a reason. I have used "oversize" tires myself, though. Used what I had when money was tight.

Why did you buy that size?

Here's a wheel that should fit nicely.
http://www.americanracing.com/browse_ar.aspLinks not working like I thought it would. Click on "OUTLAW II"
Then,
4th part number down the list. "93 on Dodge truck"
Backspacing should be perfect with that wheel. (I think)

The stock rims are more likely 16x6 and way too narrow, you will want 16x8. I have no idea what the back spacing on my rims are. I run 285/75/16 BFG All terrains and the truck is WAY nicer to drive with the proper width rims.

Personally I like a wheel at least as wide as the tread of a tire. I have 265x70x16 tires on 10 inch wide wheels. No irregular wear problems.

I bought this size because is it only slightly larger than a 285, I think it measures out to be a 33.27"x11.73". Thanks for the replies. Anyone know where to get good prices on rims?

Craiglist is a great place to start but you run the risk of buy stolen rims.

I believe the stock Dodge rims are 16x7. To my knowledge, for our model years, there weren't any 16x6 rims.

Who cares if there stolen...If you didn't steal them and have no prior knowledge of them being stolen and pay a reasonable price for them then they can't get you for theft by receiving.
