My attorney says I must answer "NO!
Really, it may not be safe under certain conditions. They probably just won't wear and handle as well as they should on the right wheels. They may "bow out" in the center, and wear the center of the tire faster. That also means poorer contact with the road, so... poorer braking, handling, etc. They MAY be fine. I'm not going to say go ahead and use them. They recommend that wheel size for a reason. I have used "oversize" tires myself, though. Used what I had when money was tight.
Why did you buy that size?

Backspacing should be perfect with that wheel. (I think)
