Question Transmission Code

I posted on here the other day about a CEL. When I took the truck in the light was for the governor solenoid and pressure sensor.

Let me back up a bit. I was driving up Hwy 18 at Tiger Mtn. and the tranny seemed like it was having trouble shifting and the engine slowed down. After that the transmission didn't want to shift or really allow me to go over 50. The shop was unable to make this problem reproduce on about 40 miles of road testing.

They told me that there could have been a piece of something in there that caused it to do this. The mechanic said he has seen that before with this tranny. Does this sound like something that is true.

I don't have a ton on cash to be able to have them open everything up if it is not necessary. I drove 30 miles to work today without any problems.

I am unsure what to do.

Andy

drive it till it happens again. then your gonna have to fix it. start savin a little bit each day for the "new dodge tranny fund"

a typical rebuild costs anywhere from 2-3 grand. depending on your area.

If it does it again, just replace the gov. sensor and solenoid.

Don't let a transmission shop talk you into a rebuild when you probably don't need one. 2 weeks ago, I had the same problem as you. With help from a couple forum members here, including MonteC, I replaced the governer presure sensor and solenoid myself in about 2 hours. If you have a minumum amount of mechanical skill, like me, you can do it too. We can talk you through it.
