Default 4x4 questions

i just bought my truck almost a month ago and i honestly dnt know when the 4x4 was used so i have been using it from time to time ... and it shifts in to 4 hi fine but when i go so fast in it is rattles and when i turn left or right to much u can hear it pop and clank around why is this is it cuz it hasnt been used that much and i need to keep using it to break it in agian..? or should i get it checked out???

Are you driving on a highly tractive surface (like the street)? If so... that is likely the drivetrain binding... and it is not good.

Only use 4wd on "loose" surfaces, like gravel roads, sand, etc. The slippery surface does not bind up the drivetrain.

So... it sounds like your 4wd is working, but you might be using when you should not be.

ok thanks and yea i was just driving down my street and i did that cuz i used to have a 99 durango 4x4 with the 5.9 and i drove down my street one time with it in 4 hi after mudding i forgot to put it back into 2wd and it never made that sound so i just thought there might be somthing wrong but i will def try it off road ....
