Default Glass Packs

Im sure this has been asked before but i cant find a thread on it when i search. Do glass packs give the exhaust different sound or tone ? if they do which ones sound the best ? Since i dont drive my truck like i use to because of fuel im thinking of cutting the cat off putting in a fastman 02 sim and putting glass packs in but cant decide on what to get.

glass packs quiet it down a bit, they mainly just remove the distortion from the straight pipe. i got dual 22" staineless steel glasspack tips for my exhaust, and i take em off for the winter so they dont take on the salt. when i do take the tips off, its 10x louder. but i like it loud, cops and small kids dont, so its a toss up.

thrush and cherry bombs are two good glass packs bands. they also some in diff lengths, so that would give you diff sounds. and also go with just a one 3in will sound diff if you had 2 2.5in pipes, i say this because you say{"Straight Piped"}..... good luck and keep us posted..... i hoped that i helped

If you cut off the cat put the glasspacks as close to the engine as possible. This makes a huge difference in the tone. The length of the pack makes a difference too. A 9 inch long case is just a shade under the tone of a straight pipe. Like an 18-22 inch case is what I prefer because it talks some serious **** at full throttle but at idle and cruising it has a calmer tone.

I put a 29inch glass pack on my truck and so far so good... its a cherry bomb picked it up for $40 at Canadian tire... put it in place of the stock muffler and i'm running a magnaflow hi flow cat with it too.
