Im Back...
Hey all.. been a while since i have been on.. thought i would drop a note saying im back.. and have a couple questions.. i have a 2001 ram 1500 4x4 w/ 5.2 .. it has a lift with 35inch tires on it.. i need to re gear it.. it still has stock on it.. what would be the best to put in.. and where can i find them.. having a problem even finding new gears .. i think i will pick up a super chips to reprogram the computer for speedometer and all that.. but gears will help.. thanks in advance

You shouldn't have a problem finding gears, the 44 has been around for 30 years and the 9.25 is under tons of Dodge and Jeep vehicles. I would go with 4.56, 4.88 if you tow. I think 4.88 is the lowest ratio you can go with a 9.25, but I could be wrong. Just my 2 cents.

ok... another stupid question.. i have never regeared before.. but would like to do this myself... what all will i need to get this job done.. everything under the truck is stock besides the lift.. its got stock 3.55 ... i AM thinking on the 4.88 swap considering the fact i live in the mountains in southern colorado.. and i do tow occasionally.. so the torqe and hopefully gas mileage will improve.. anyone with concrete knoweledge on this would be appreciated.. thanks in advance
