They were just talking about a possible merger due to the bad economy. I think after todays turn around in the market, its slim. BUT, even with the gas prices dropping, the SUV and truck market hasn't change for the better.

Its all going to take some time for things to get better, but I hope that gas sticks to the current trend. The global demand is low... but funny how my truck still has a big demand for it.

Why, so the body and all the other parts can rot away until there's nothing left but the good ol' Cummins engine?

The biggest problem with the truck market is too many people bought them when fuel was cheap and believed them to be safer than cars. I live in the sticks and do a lot of hauling, so I need a truck. Some soccer mom in town with three rugrats, doesn't.

They are safer than cars. Seriously, a truck vs. anything but another truck will always come out on top. Plus its not just about safety. How about a vehicle being able to survive a crash. Trucks are the best value for the money when it comes to transportation.

Not that I care about safety considering i ride an R1

Belive me trucks are safer than cars. I have been in an accident in a honda prelude and a 1997 chevy lets just say after the honda quit rolliing the freind that i was with and i both went to the hospital. When i wrapped the chevy around a tree at 80 miles an hour, i stuck in 4 low and drove off

ill never own a car

Not around my location it seems. You always see rusted out Chevrolets, rarely a terrible looking Dodge. If you see a Dodge Ram of our years, four times out of five it appears to be in decent to great shape. Maybe around the Great Lakes area or the north east, where rust is more prevalent, but around here, you don't see a whole lot of Fords or Dodge trucks on the used lots. Mostly Chevrolet and GMC.

When you do see a 2nd gen Dodge Ram, usually it has over 100,000 miles. The GMCs and Chevrolets tend to have around 50,000-ish.
