I have been running the motor with no #1 cylinder, and it runs fine, so I know where the problem lies! When you accelerate under normal load, it runs great. As soon as there is any load ( a hill or you hammer down the gas a bit) the engine makes a loud consistent knock.... the same knock that came from the #1 cylinder when it was hooked up. Mind you, when the #1 cylinder IS hooked up it makes this noise ALL the time.

My thoughts are:

The #1 cylinder is so badly fouled up it wont run right

The rings are gone ( yet I did a compression test and it was 110-120 psi )

I need some suggestions of a product I can pour in that cylinder in hopes to free it up and cure ( or bandage ) the problem at hand.

The injector on that cylinder has been replaced, and the intake was cleaned very well when I had it off.

Also, the last 2 oil changes I ran 4L oil the rest ATF, and have been getting fair sized chunks of carbon out, so I know she's dirty haha.

That leak (plenum)

HAD run lol... and is no longer running with a plenum leak, but as a result of running for so long WITH a leak, this carbon has built up in the cylinder. The plenum was fixed back in July, I'm just trying to clean the mess the leak left behind.

another option:

http://www.etoolcart.com/browseprodu...-OTC7904A.html

but myself I think the official $8 spray can of
Chrysler 'Combustion Chamber Cleaner'
works well.... it is a foam

So. I let some more fuel conditioner sit in the chamber for a few days. Fired the truck up and the knock was still there. I left the cylinder unplugged for the last few weeks. Yesterday, I was on empty so I put in 1/4 tank of 94. I headed over to my friends house to hang out for a bit. While I was there I told him to come out and listen to the knock on that one cylinder. I popped the hood and reconnected the plug wire and injector. When I started the truck... no knock! NOTHING! It was totally gone. I drove around for about 15min, and still no knock! Over the past day, I've heard the knock maybe 3 times, but thats all.... and it used to knock every few seconds!

Better gas?

Well after about 50km of driving, the knock came back... I'm debating pulling the valve cover to check for a broken spring or something.

SOOOOOOOO!

I pulled the valve cover, and found a rocker with a pushrod through it!!!! It's now fixed and back together!

I've still yet to drive it, but the exhaust had a funny little inconsistency in it.... sounded like it was running normal then every 10 sec or so there was a little fire in between... who knows. I'm gonna change the oil again this afternoon and take it for a drive see if its any better than before.

WHAT WOULD CAUSE A PUSHROD TO GO THROUGH A ROCKER???

1. Bad / low oil?

2. A bad misfire ?

3. A plenum that leaked for years on that particular cylinder?

I feel like I've somewhat solved the problem
