Default 2 1/2 or 2 1/4

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, and I have a 98 Ram Sport rcsb with a 5.9. I am going to run a single in dual out muffler on my truck. I have been lurking around different places for a while and have heard that running dual 2 1/2 will result in a loss of to much backpressure, and was told to go with 2 1/4. THe pipe will not be mandrel bent so I was wondering which pipe size you all recommend. Thanks

I have 2 1/4 all the way and non mandrel bent. saw no low end loss. from what i've read, if you go with anything larger, you will lose some low end. If you plan on any more mods, maybe 2.5 won't be too bad. i'm not worried of my low end cuz i plan on putting some 4.10 gears on back.

2.25's are what I have. I have a 50 series flowmaster with 3"in dual 2.5" out both outputs have been brought down to 2.25 and I noticed gains up to about 4500 rpm...
