Default Transmission Pan Gasket

2000 Dodge Ram 5.9L 46RE
Hey guys ever since the tranny stuff I have done (look at my other post) I can not seem to get the tranny oil pan to stop leaking from the oil pan gasket. I have used a new Mopar (from dodge) gasket 3 times, its a hard plastic gasket with rubber seal around it. They say its the best gasket, opposed to full rubber or cork. They also told me to hand tighten the pan bolts. So I have tried that and still leaked to tightened them some more still leaked. I have tried another mopar gasket (same kind) and tightened to 13ft lbs from the FSM still leaked. I just dont know. How do yall tighten this stock pan gasket up, like what gasket are yall useing and how tight on the bolts. Thanks

Pull the pan and see if where the bolts go through is indented like the bolts where tightened too much. Put the pan upside down on a flat hard surface and with a piece of wood , hammer the gasket surface around the bolt holes so they are flat again.

I thought about that last time I had it off, and it looked to be pretty flat

13ftlbs is too much. Tighten the gasket to 90inlbs. What gasket do you have? The bonded rubber gasket? It has a steel frame with rubber bonded to it? You may also need to put a dab of RTV on each bolts threads. Ive seen many chryslers leak not through the pan gasket but through the bolt threads.

ok i tightened them to 90in lbs, the hand tight that i had done was close to the 90 in lbs, so we will see if it helps, also the gakset is a hard plastic with a rubber seal all around it, from dodge.
