"power window roll-up module" Anyone have one?
*These modules can be installed with any keyless entry or alarm system even factory and roll the windows up (or leave a crack if you like) when you lock the doors.*
I installed a new alarm last week and I wish I would have done a write-up, because it came out very good, and there is very little info for DIY alarm installs. On top of that our trucks use
two extra relays for the door locks, one to disable the stock alarm, one to re-arm the stock alarm, one for the tailgate switch and another for the hood switch then one for the dome lights, another for the starter kill and now it looks like I may need two more for the window module. All in all I saved hundreds and after I put in a camera that can be accessed by my cell phone and booby trap the radio it will be an ultimate alarm system.
Basiclly I got a FM 2 way alarm with starter kill for $60, then added a glass break sensor, microwave sensor, remote start, interior siren ultrasonic sensor, tilt/tow sensor and now I want to put in a window roll down module.
I have the module in hand, besides the normal black and red power wires, I have a wire that picks up the door lock signal either + or -. Then I have to cut the wire to each window and splice the module to the wires between the switch and the motor.
I was just wondering if any one else has done this. With the door locks I had a wiring diagram for the lock relays in hand so it was a breeze. For this I know our locks are reverse polarity. I plan to go and work based on trial and error.
I have a wiring diagram in hand, and I think I am just going to put the module in the door itself, seeing that I have all the wires in there and its a PITA to pass wires between the kick panel and the door. This way I only have to run one wire the ACC pick-up.
So sorry for rambling, but if anyone has any experience with these modules or the power windows in general, it could help, thanks.
