Loud squeal Noise When Cold
1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L
Only when I start the truck in the mornings and temp around 35 or below the truck has a really loud squeal noise for about 15 sec. Give it some gas and then it goes away. The truck has a new serpentine belt around 5k ago. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

might be idler pulley or tensioner pulley. i'd try giving the center bushing of each a generous shot of wd40. the tensioner assy is a little expensive at $50-60. i don't know how much the idler is.
I agree. Mine was fine until the temps dropped below 40 deg. I used PB blaster on the idler pulley, tens. pulley, even got some on the belt. Noise gone. But don't do it with the motor running, that stuff taste's terrible!
the idler pulley on my truck just went, gone had to replace, i know my alternator squeeks when it gets moist, like if i hit to big of a puddle. but not anymore, the idler at autozone is 30 and tentioner is 66, i just boght them. bot are very simple replacement
