Question Fuel pump - Has anyone try this?

This is a second time my fuel pump went out.
I also had some issues with the fuel tank sending unit
Anyway - I'm tired of dropping the tank or taking off the bad to get to the fuel pump.

Has anyone try removing the intank pump and installing some other electric pump on the outside?
Can I just put any pump inline?
Or do I need some sort of fuel pressure regulator as well?

Any input appreciated

Sounds like you have an issue other than the pump. Perhaps a bad wire is grounding out the pump and burning them out?

That's very possible.
This reminds me
When I tested pump connection here is what I found.
When testing + and - going into the pump, 12.5V was ON for only about a second, then OFF.
Should there be a constant 12V on the leads?
I powered up the pump with some external leads and there was no fuel being pumped.
I'm convinced the pump is gone.
