Default Rollpan or Bumper?

Which would be cheaper.... a junkyard bumper or a rollpan? I just need something to put on the back, it looks strange with a gap there lol. I already have a hitch so there is no need for a bumper.. I priced a checker plate step bumper at a wrecker up here for $100. What would a roll pan run me price wise?

got my pan for about $120 with shipping. then you gotta paint it. and depending on the year of your truck, the hitch may not fit. i have a 2000 1500 4wd with a roll pan, and having alot of trouble looking for a hitch. unless im looking in the wrong place.

Yeah, I was thinking I could run into problems. Maybe its best to stick with a bumper then.

Think about it this way. Would you rather be rear ended with a roll pan or a steel bumper?

Well, my hitch is rusted in place so I think it would take a lot if it haha. Aside from that, good point. Bumper it is!

My opinion is that unless your running a lowered 2wd sport truck you should go with a bumper. But you gotta go with what works for ya.

i've been rear ended twice in my truck, the last one i was hit hard, me and my girlfriend necks were hurting for a few days... i would get a bumper.... the thing about it is that you never know when it will happen.

Exactly. With only a hitch back there, you risk serious frame damage.

A woman in a Camry rear ended me doing what she claimed to be 50-55mph, when I was stopped at a light. Here's what the damage looked like.

Get a bumper.
