Performace sylnoid failure
Well I noticed that my truck did not seem to go into overdrive. And I was cruising at 21-2200rpm's @65mph when Im normally only at 15-1700. So I hooked up my truck to the DRB and got back the overdrive "Performance sylnoid" is failing and not working correctly and that is my Torque converter is staying unlocked which is why it does not feel like my Truck is going into OD when it technically is.
My Question is. What exactly is this and do I have to get into my transmission to fix it? Im hoping its an outside the tranny but Im fearing its gonna be inside.
My boss at the shop is deer hunting all weekend so I cant reach him till Tuesday so I thought i'd ask on here and see exactly what kinda trouble im gonna be dealing with on this.
Thanks,
-K

my truck is doing pretty much the same thing. was the code you got out of your reader a P1740? My buddy that works at one of the stealerships here in town says i should probably have my tranny re-built, but I was looking around on here for better answers
I did not get any codes. No Check Engine Light. I just noticed the problem and hooked it up to the DRB, the DRB is the computer that plugs into my OBDII Port under the dash and it tells me everything thats going on, from what my RPM is to what my Tranny temp is... Its what the Stealership uses and My boss happens to have one I can use. It can detect certain problems before the computer toss's a check engine light.
I might though a Code after a few days but so far no codes.
