Default double Din radio in 2nd gen Ram

Has anyone mounted a double din radio in a @nd Gen Dodge Ram. I have seen it done before and it requires slight trimming of the dash panel.

If you have done this can you please post a pic, or send a pic to me at :greg.davidson@bxs.com

Thanks

A double din is a taller head unit, roughly 4 inches tall. That's what most in dash navigation units are. I have seen a pick some where at one time of a guy that did it. But I to would be interested in how it was done.

one web site said the double din 6.5'' tall... is that the size of the one you have or want to get... i say good thing you have a 96, i went out and looked at my 95 and it looks like you will lose the ash tra and cig lighter( no big deal move the cig to the other power port) a factory radio is 3" tall so you need 3.5 more.... from the cup holder down to the bottom 6.5" so it would work but it would be a close fit... also there maybe problems with the cup holder going in and out... also you will lose the support were the old radio sat on..... but you have problemly all ready thought about all this.

I will try to check this out this weekend. I have a second gen ram with the dumb-*** cup holder above the radio, maybe i can come up with a conversion for you.
