Default Superchips Question

So im looking to buy a superchips tunner for my truck and just doing some reading up on it. My question is, will this tunner work fine without having an air intake filter kit? im still pretty much all stock under the hood and just looking for a lil boost but don't really feel like buying an intake kit also. I know everybody says that intake kits are so much better and fuel savings make its worth the purchace bla bla bla ....... and so on. Im on the superchips website right now and it says Superchips Tuning will work with Air Intake Filter Kit when stock Mass Air Meter is used, so does that mean i gotta have the intake kit? any feed back works and thanks for your help

No you don't need the Air Intake Kit! And just for the record, those kits are NOT alot better and mpg gain is pretty much nill. You can try the 14x3 air cleaner mod however.

I got one. Love it. MPG is not alot but hell anything in these beast's is a plus. I was a constant 10.0-10.1 and on my last tank before my torque converter went out I hit 11.2 Figure a 10% gain aint to shabby espically when gas was 4 bucks a gallon. But im now with the chip normally around 10.6-10.7, I musta really babied her that last tank. Even a 4-5% increase pays for its self over time.

I Had to tow my other truck and set the settings for "Tow" and noticed it did indeed tow easier, did not seem to stain as much on the hills as it did before. But everyone has there own opinion and some people think just because I have the kit I think my truck is doing better when it possible is not.. and that I must use a lighter foot to get my MPG higher.. Just figure if you do get one and you dont like it or dont think it helped improve your performace.. there easy to offload on ebay or craigslist.
