Default Dodge Lift

i have 11 3/4 inches of clearence between my trucks roof and my garage. i going to put a 5.5" fabtech suspension lift on my truck and 36x15.5r16 dick cepek mud country tires on the truck and a 3 inch body lift. do u think i will fit in my garage still? what exactly is the total amount of lift i will get from all this? i have 285's on my truck currently if that matters. its a 99 ram 1500 sport 318

new clearance = 11 3/4" - (5 1/2" + 3") - [1/2(new tire diameter) - 1/2(old tire diameter)]

If the 285 are around 31", then you'll have roughly 3/4" between the roof of your truck and the roof of your garage. Thats a rough estimate, so dont buy anything based off of it.

Dude, it'll be freakin close! You have 11 3/4" to work with. I bet it'll just barely squeek through. If you add 3" body lift your down to 8 3/4" of clearance. The you add a 5.5" inch suspensionn lift now your down to 3 1/4" clearance (and thats if your suspension doesn't sag). Then you go from aproximately a 31" tire to aproximately a 36" tire... which will lift your truck another 2.5" leaving you with 3/4" clearance. BUT your tires will squat at least 3/4" inch I bet. SO I think you'll you'll probably have and inch or two to spare. BUT! I'm just a redneck doing quick math - so don't take my ramblings too seriously Definately no room for CB antennas on the roof. And watch out if you have packed snow in your driveway... that might do ya in.

A 285 is roughly a 33, not a 31...

Did you post this on Pavement Sucks too, I feel like I just rear this for the second time? Anyways, you should be fine in theory but keep in mind a new lift will net more height right after install. It may take a few weeks for the springs to settle to the right height.
