Default 4 wheel drive help!!!!

Ok guys i have looked but cant find anything about whats causing noises from my 4 wheel drive. Ok i engage it and it works in either 4 hi or 4 low and as soon as i start driving it it will start making a poping sound. It is in bout 2 sec intervals and you will also feel it (not like shake you feel just a little pop feeling).. I know my 4 wheel engages cause it just snowed and you can see both front tires spinning.

yeah, i had to replace the axle u-joints on my truck. along with the upper and lower ball joints. lol

anyways, i got a 4wd question. my 4wd acts kinda funky. i can shift it in on the floor. but the light doesnt kick on untill about a half hour of driving. i have a 98 ram 1500 non sport. and i know its vaccum operated and i knoticed a vaccum line was busted when i bought the truck. so i got a piece of hose/vaccum line and connected the two.

anything that i should be aware of? anything i should look for? any ideas why its not engaging? lol thanks

From my personal experience and from talking to other mechanics I have found that when my truck is in 4 wheel it will drive perfectly fine unless I slow down and make a tight turn. When you do this, the angle that the front wheels make with the drive shaft cause the u-joints to want to hang up and it will get kinda jerky. I have had to deal with this since I bought my truck and I have been told it is just a symptom of the 4x4. However, the noise you hear sounds like the u-joints are wearing out and are trying to pop in and out of the cups. I would def check those out and replace as needed.

I had to replace my vac lines that go from the transfer case to the CAD unit. It was a $26 part from D.o.d.ge. East to install... My lines were rotted pretty badly along the frame.
