When I got my truck ithad no tools or jack at all. Went to the hardware store picked up a long carriage bolt with the bolt size that fit into the crank on the bumper. Grabbed 2 inch coupler nut to fit on the threaded end of the bolt. Added lock tight and cranked the coupler tight. Had an extra 3/8 rachet, long extension and the appropiate socket and I was in business. Already had small floor jack so that was not an issue either.

In case anybody loses or needs the tool for the carrier.

That should have been bolt head size that fits into the carrier.

Go get you a high-lift jack...TSC usually has them for about $40, and if you ever have to jack up your almost 7K lb truck, you will GLAD you have it...other then that you just need a good 4-way from Wally World.

keep the tire most of the time you can flag someone down to help the might have a jack but odds are they wont have a spare tire for you so at least you have the tire +1 on keeping the tire on the truckbottle jack are cheap in the right stores they work great and don't take allot of room up!

Got mine at the junk yard, $20.00. Also once a year let the spare down and lubricate the cable with Lubriplate white grease.
