Default Intake

So I want to know what is the best for my truck for the price. I have a 1999 dodge ram 2500 5.9l v8, i've always wanted to get a K&N cold air intake but it is so spendy and im 16 and dont have alot of extra cash to throw around and my attention has been drawn to the triangular and circle K&N air cleaners that i could mount on the top of my throttle body. The intake systems usually run around 300 and the regular air cleaners run about 100 and they both say you should get about a 15hp gain. Does anyone have and knowledge or experience with these to help me decide which i should invest in? thanks

Don't waste your money. You will lose low end torque with any sort of air hat. configuration, as well as it will be a pita to get on and off.

I'm not the only one preaching about loss of torque BTW. This engine was designed in the 60's, then later on Chrysler decided to slap fuel injection on it. Zomgalientech CoLd AiR iNtAkEs wont make a damn bit of difference.

I did the DYI on this site for the 14 inch round, wasn't expensive below $100 if I remember right.

It is a tight fit and you got to get use to the hissing but I love it! Here are some pics:
