Yeah, galaxy's are nice, but come with a nice pricetag too lol. I did own a "kicker" as you call it, but often refered to as a linear that took 4w in, 100w out. Decided that I really didn't need to run the risk of getting caught. I ditched it, and just went to a shop who set me up with 20w out of the cb on their bird meter. Puts out plenty. I always did want to try to shoot skip, but I figure I mise well just get a ham radio setup then and do it right

buy them used. i got a galaxy 99 for 125$. and a galaxy 33 and 44 both for 100$ each.all in great shape. granted i had to keep my eye out,but good deals are out there. and i have never heard of anyone actually getting in "trouble" with a mobile linear. if you keep it under 500w there shouldnt be any problems. and really the only time i use it is when i want to hit some skip.we have semi's come in and hual alot of coal out.so i guess it made it a little easier for me to find a good deal. we also send coal out by train.a little over 500,000 tons last month.

Galaxy's sure are nice, but how about antennas? Show 'em off. Heres mine, just a hood mount 3' K40. Nothing crazy. And as far as handles go, I run by "Redram"
