Hey,
Went over 100,000 miles last night on my way to the bar. After doing this was wondering what I should do to celebrate. Took a shot of 100 proof Yukon Jack. Hopefully that will give it another 100k. Any one else have any rituals for hitting 100 or even 200 k miles?

Congrats........if you keep the oil clean in the later years it will benifit you ,i turned 341,000 on the same engine and transmission, of course I put on water pump, and timing chain, regular stuff, but I changed them out BEFOREthey went out, the fuel pump also at 200,000 miles ,and it wasnt out either, I used a GM pump because of the price, and was easy to get...here is a tip , that I have used for ever, when towing.....start off with the overdrive switch OFF of course, the slowly accelerate then when it is time to shift ,take your foot off of the gas for a second and let the transmission shif on its own, then step bacl on it do this every time it shifts, and you will be letting the trans shift on its own power insted of tthe load you are pulling, this really works great.............

LOL, this is how I drive normaly now. Mebbe it is because of the tendancy to drive a standard or the Monte Carlo with a bad tranny that you had to shift like that.

Lol, the old mustang had a bad trans too... Previous owner killed it, had burnt fluid etc... If you gave it some gas to get moving, the engine would tack way up (no tach, but sounds way high) and wouldn't shift right, so... in order to make it shift to second at a decent rpm, you would let off the gas pedal for a split seconds so the pedal returned to normal position and re-mashed it. God that car was a POS, but when the front end bouces up from the 1-2 shift, it is pretty cool
