problem # 1-fixed, nothing a few butt-connectors and some heakshrink coundnt fix. and the second problem was fixed as well- pitman arm was horrible.

If you don't feel like dropping the tank and replacing the sensor yourself, it should only cost about $250 for a trusted shop to do it for you.
