I did just what Dodgeman22 recommended about 2 years ago. Replaced the housings with new ones from Ebay and purchased the Sylvania bulbs. The difference was remarkable. Just replaced the original fog lamps and now I can see the deer before I hit them

Sylvania bulbs are junk. I wish you guys would try other bulbs and see how bad they are. You want a better bulb, go to a parts store that carries GE bulbs and ask for their Nighthawk bulbs, or some O'Reilly's and ask for the high end Philips bulbs. Only reason you see Sylvania talked about a lot is because everyone carries them. If you like the whitish/blueish and don't want to try off-brands, Philips has a bulb type or two that are coated like the Sylvania Ultras that are nice.

Sort of like FRAM oil filters, and we all know to avoid those (I hope).

Myself, I went with Eurolite bulbs, made by Toucan. Too bad they went out of business, or so I've been told. Glad I picked me up a spare pair. Regardless, I've tried almost every performance bulb I can find locally; GE Nighthawks, Silverstars, Silverstar Ultras, Philips, Nokyas, and some off brands. The worst performing stock wattage "performance" bulbs were the Silverstars, followed by Silverstar Ultras. Better than stock, but not worth the extra dough. And now I upgraded my wiring and harnesses and run high wattage Eurolites that cost me about $25, half the price of the Silverstars.

well thanks everyone.. im not sure what i am going to do.. im thinking of the luminics krypton yellow.. either that or the titanium white. eventually i would like to replace the housings but not sure with what.. probably the h.i.d. projector ones or whatever they are on ebay. I had nighthaks in my 98 dakota and they sucked and swore never to get them again.. sylvania was brighter and quite noticeable.. as for fog lights i have a pretty good set. when they r on u cant see my headlights ha. anyone try luminics bulbs?
