Deep water+ truck= bad news. I suggest carrying a stick with you so you can check to see how deep the hole is before you plow through it

 

Are you serious? So he should wade out into a puddle with a stick to take a measurement before he drives through it. And he must be driving through it at about 2 mph to make sure it doesn't splash up above the measured level, right? Give me a break.

 

Silver_Dodge +1 on what you said....don't think I have through puddles as deep as you but I've had the experience to drive through a 2nd puddle to get the mud from the first!

oh which remind me I need to clean my engine bay! darn that gonna be a pain getting off old dry mud! weekend task!

 

Yea im pretty serious, I have seen harmless looking puddles swallow trucks

Atleast get out of your damn truck and look to see if its do able. I have also seen mudholes that have hidden ledges buried in the muck which could possibly destroy your steering and front axle assembly if hit hard

 

i'd start the truck up in the driveway and use the waterhose on one area at a time to try and find the problem. everything other than the air intake should be water tight and not die when flooded with water, including the distributor. also, if the distributor was getting water in it, it wouldn't restart so easily...
