Default Heated mirrors broke?

First i want to say that this forum is extremely helpful when it comes to almost anything dodge related. Second, to the real issue, im not much of an electrician and i need help with the rear mirror defrost. i don' t know if it works or not. i read the manual here on the site and cannot make heads or tails of it. when i press the button the "indicator light" for the defrost system comes on, but i cannot see ant noticeable difference in the amount of ice on my mirrors.

Thx in advance for everyones help

First start with the basics. Check the fuse. Check all of them, its really easy with a meter. You can get one from walmart for $25 bucks. If your fuses are good check for voltage at the switch. If you have voltage, check the switch. If the switch is good then your chasing wiring.

How long have you waited to see a difference? Mine usually takes at least a couple minutes, sometimes closer to five if its really cold out, before the ice/frost/snow starts melting off of mine.

i drove 15 minutes to school with it on sometimes and i see no difference, but the timer does turn it off, i know, if im not mistaked, that i have voltage at the switch because the light comes. is there a fuse in the cab because i read the panel and didnt see what i think would be a fuse for it, which fuses would it be for the defrost???
