I had this problem less then a week ago. I had to put my foot to the floor and start it then let up. If i didnt put my foot to the floor it wouldnt start. I went home took my alternator out and got a new one works like a charm. Take your alternator out and get it tested.

the local auto parts store said its good but when i did get it started it screamed at me and my truck wouldnt stay started if i let off the gas. So i figured it was bearings or something in it and got a new one anyway and it worked right away without any problems so dont always take there word.

when my truck ran like that, it was the pre cat o2 sensor. i did replace the iac but it didnt help the problem, ran like a champ after it had a new iac and o2 sensor though.

I was thinking the same thing as Squirrels. Since he burried the rear in a snowbank, did he cram it and that's where it's stalling out the engine?

Default Ram would not idle.

I had the same problem with my 96 Ram 5.2 4x4 and when I replace the IAC valve it seemed to solve the problem. It took a total of 30 minutes and $25.

$25! mine was $40 total for the IAC i got the Duralast with a 2 year warranty are these supposed to have gaskets? Replacing the IAC and the PCV and resetting the PCM seems to have gotten rid of my idling problem.

Duratrash? Shame on you, abusing your poor innocent truck that way!

An o-ring between the flange and throttle body, around the boss the pintle protrudes from.
