Differential fluid change intervals
I was told if I change my diff fluid my tires won't spin as much when trying to get traction in snow. My question is how long can it go before change. And do you recommend syn fluid, and about how much does it take? Oh and how hard is it?
huh ? assuming you have an open diff (no lsd), or a properly working lsd, i think, that's ummmm... ridiculous.
if you drive through creeks and/or deep water, you should change it regularly to make sure you don't have any water in there. otherwise, every 24k-48k should be fine. it takes about 2 qts. i think synthetic is a waste of money, but that's just my opinion. easy to do, just don't bend the cover when breaking it loose. if you have a limited slip, LSD, you need the little bottle of friction modifier for the clutches.

the only thing that will help your traction in snow is extra weight in the back, less snow, better tires, working lsd or locker, snow chains, sand, kitty litter, or cinders.
