Post off road tire

so i watching extream 4x4 this weekend on spike tv and they said if you put yr off road tires on backwards that they last longer. has anyone ever done this before and why would you want to do that.

Where they talking about directional tires? Bias plies?

There's no 'backwards' on a non-directional tire. Yeah, not enough info on what they said? Maybe they were referring to rotation?

im not sure i only got the last few word and they where if you mount yr off road tire backwards they last longer. i dont think that they where talking about rotation. ill try to dig up some more on it.

some mount directional front tires backwards......the idea behind it is to prevent cupping/uneven wear since the front tire is doing it's maximum work/load under braking rather than acceleration and it's normal indicated rotation...
