Default tcc and misfire codes

hey guys, quick question for you all. i own a 98 2500 andi recently got a check engine light and it started flashing about the time that it shifts into overdrive. i went to autozone and had them pull the codes: i dont have the numbers in front of me but they were tcc and cylinder one misfire. the truck feels sluggish and seems to take while to get to speed. the question is if the tcc and the resulting lugging at stop signs and lights cause a misfire in cylinder one or are they unrelated?
