No! On the passenger side of the motor you will see plastic tubes and round things which are check valves , check that area , and if you have cruise look under the battery tray, and also check the hoses going to the front axle (passenger side to the shift motor).

check your a/c compressor clutch, that sounds like what is making the noise especially if you got a rubber burning smell, just take your serp belt of and spin the a/c pulley should be real obvious.

Check all the pulley's while you have the belt off. He said it did (the smoke and smelling part) after he got it back from having the muffler fixed, I figured the guy took his latex glove off and put it some where and forgot it, or tore it on something and part of it got stuck on the exhaust. Like a clamp or something. LOL

Im going to start screwin with my truck tomorrow and the next few days, i'll let you guys know, thanks a lot for all the tips, really appreciate it.

If it is the AC compresser how much would that cost to replace? Sounds expensive.

You have a vac leak, a large one. Probably the plenum gasket is blown.

At OD kickdown the engine lugs harder than it has to anywhere else on the truck. The vac drops and the vent that are operated on engine vac cease to function properly. The sound you're hereing might very well be pinging.

With those 37's on 3.55 gears, you're really working it over HARDCORE! I'll bet something in the drivetrain is going, possible even the Tranny is burning up. Your axles aren't even rated for that much wheel if I'm not mistaken. The D44 shouldn't really take more than 35's

doesn't matter, that big a tire is bad news for a stock truck.

I know, But having 37s and never wheeling it defets the idea of having 37s.
