Aftermarket headlights for sport model?
Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find anything decent.
My stock sport headlights are starting to yellow and look cruddy, so I'd like to get a smoked aftermarket set. My problem is, I can't find ANYTHING that will work with the sport model. Are there any aftermarket headlights for sport model trucks? Or is there any way to use the non-sport aftermarket lights? I know I can just polish/sand my stock lights but I'd rather get a permanent fix. For those of you with sport trucks, what did you do for aftermarket headlights? Thanks

Not many options, if any at all, from what I've seen and heard. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of my "crystal one piece headlamps" and going the sport headlamp conversion route.
I'd say buy a new set of sport headlamps. The aftermarket ones especially will be nice and clear.

Well i have a sport and they are a one piece with the dual bulbs. The low's beams suck on them. I did manage to get them in and make them work after pretty much taking the whole after market assembly apart and re-installing it piece by piece (on the driver side), the passenger side slide right in (dont ask i dont know why). But i cant adjust them up high enough to make them actually work (they throw a "hard line" of light on the ground and its annoying). For the time, headache, and performance of them i would just go with an after market actual sport headlight and put some descent bulbs in them. I'm switching mine out.
I just put a set on my 99 Sport I got them off eBay.

They are some aftermarket maker lights (Eagle eyes) look idententical to the stock.
I want a blacked-out truck, I am in the process of seeing if I can do a few things like
black-out the headlights; couldn't find pre-tinted headlight housing replacements, but have found new clear housings and a smoked "cover"
black-out the chrome wheels; I have heard you can powder coat wheels, just need to ask around if it is true, and how durable it will be. If not I can always replace them. a few more coins for sure!

Those are a 2 piece light though arent they? I couldnt find any 2 piece lights (like our stock ones) that were smoked out either. If anyone comes across them make sure they fill the rest of us in on it!

Take your 9007s, move the wires around to 9004 configuration, take out the 9007 bulbs, put in the 9004s.

Note: Your inner bulbs are your high beam 9004s. Your outer bulbs are your low/high 9007s.
1. Take your 9007 (outer) sockets. Remove the bulbs.
2. Move the passenger side wire (high beam) to the right side, replacing the driver's side wire (low beam).
3. Move the ground (center wire) to the original high beam spot (passenger side).
4. Take the dangling low beam wire that you removed in step 1 and put it in the now empty (previously ground) center spot.
5. Remove the bulbs from your 9004 sockets and move them to your newly wired 9004 sockets (previously 9007).
6. Leave the inner sockets blank. Cut them off and/or tie them out of the way (I'd recommend just tying them out of the way and not cutting them off, making it easier to go back to stock later if needed).
And there you are.
9007s will not work well in aftermarket housings designed for 9004s because the 9007's filaments are mounted hot dog style (axial), rather than hamburger style like the 9004s (transverse). They also go a bit farther into the housing. Those two factors do not work well with the reflecting parts inside the 9004-oriented housing, giving pretty terrible light output. (Trust me, I tried it.)
