After I rebuilt the engine on my truck, I went through two belts in approximately 20K miles. One even shredded in the parking lot of the auto parts store when I changed it right there. The problem was the belts. I always keep the receipts (lifetime warranty) and I never paid for a new one. The last belt I bought was a clear winner.

 

And do you recall the brand?

 

No, but I can check my receipts.

 

I bought a poly-v Goodyear Gatorback belt at autozone

 

Well that should be ok, but check all the other stuff I mentioned and get a Gates.
